Pay while you recover or bond
NJ Department of Labor — Temporary Disability Insurance and Family Leave Insurance. Apply, check status, and read maternity instructions at myleavebenefits.nj.gov. Discrimination, accommodations, NJFLA
Division on Civil Rights enforces the Law Against Discrimination (including pregnancy and breastfeeding) and the New Jersey Family Leave Act. Federal job protection and sex discrimination
U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour — FMLA. Start at dol.gov/agencies/whd/fmla or 1-866-487-9243. EEOC — federal employment discrimination, including pregnancy: eeoc.gov. Deadlines are short. Do not wait for a “good time.” A good time is a filing date you can prove.
The medical care itself
A care complaint against a New Jersey physician goes to the Board of Medical Examiners at the Division of Consumer Affairs, which takes complaints online. Facility complaints can go to the Department of Health (including 1-800-792-9770). That is licensing and safety, not a money lawsuit. A lawsuit is a different animal; see women’s pain and malpractice.

A small ritual before you pick a door
Write down the date, the dollars if any, and whether you are asking for money, a job, an accommodation, or a medical-board look. Then pick the agency that actually hears that thing. DOL cash. DCR civil rights and NJFLA. USDOL FMLA. EEOC federal discrimination. Board of Medical Examiners for a physician. DOH for a facility. Safe Haven is not a complaint; it is nj.gov/njsafehaven.
